Long Bridge | Detroit Lakes, MN

Long Bridge Project

This project involved storm water management engineering, extensive permitting with several governmental bodies, and required two variances from the City. Building a two story structure on poor soils near the lake required helical piers drilled from 50’ to 75’ in the ground. Using helical pier pads and structural steel, the new structure was literally built over the top of the existing building. The main level addition consists of glass walls and doors on two sides. The second level was constructed as a seasonal mezzanine with custom hurricane shutters, wood deck floor, a bridge walkway to an elevator tower and two custom designed exterior staircases.
